Let me tell you what this place NEEDS, and it sure isn't another food venue!! We are in serious need of a 24/7, roadside assistance company. It should have a tow truck, and be able to give jumps, change and air-up tires, and bring gas, or other essential fluids tostranded motorists. I speak from experience!! My car has been stuck at Robinson's mall for 3 days while we have been trying to get someone out there!! If I had the where-with-all, I would start this business myself!!

ah... larry you think of everything.

besides a taco bell, i'd like to see a well stocked hardware store and building supply (home depot style) with a decent loading area and covered PARKING for CARS...

    norm : ))~

Who needs enemies when you have family! NEVER, NEVER under any circumstances employ family or friends if you want to keep either. Business is business. Family is family. Keep them seperate. Everybody stays happy. I had a family member work for me once. He decided to give himself a bonus. I decided he should be a guest of the state DOC. Nobody was happy.

I looked into this. It cost 20,000P to get the franchise and the qualifications are minimal. However, the required hours would force me to hire employees. Not gonna happen.

"just buy a BIG one and let the wife,s family run it".....ha hah ha...reminds of what Don Prudhomme said about professional drag racing....He said "If you want to make a million drag racing, start with ten million and quit about mid-season".

A road service sound doable, but who except foreigners could pay for such a service? Seems like a very limited market.

LOCATION IS THE # 1 PRIORITY !!!!!!!!! ..........If you could cook up a good hamburger hot dog stand.... ...(Like the ones in NY CALIF ETC) with a good Chili Dog (which i have tested the market with people here loving them) small menu ... short good hours...good mark up....and keep it in a young mode for the cruisers...you want the 17---up crowd

As soon as you do that, 20 locals will open copy-cat stands around you and squeeze you out.

The problem with business in the Phils is that if it is small; every Juan, Nestor, and Nene will copy you cheaply and try to crowd you out. If your business is bigger and successful and encroaches on the really big businesses, they will use their influence to shut down your access to wholesalers and suppliers.

We are trying to think of something that is needed that would allow us to work 6 - 8 hours a day max, 5 days a week, yet still provide an adequate net profit income of 30K - 50K a month. I will not hire employees. I will not be forced to give bonuses (13th month pay) when none is deserved by outstanding on-the-job perfomance, and I will not be forced to provide benefits for those that don't want them. I won't be forced to watch over every transaction like a hawk to make we're not be stolen from. It has to be something that my wife and I can do without outside help.
