Hi, just wanted clarification with regards to the advertisement fee... is it $500 yearly as published or 500 Filipino pesos? Can it be paid by Paypal?

 

Finding things in this town

Minnie and Larry,
After living here for two years, I still find it difficult to find some products in this town I feel I need. This is partially because a store with a window full of dresses actually sells some of the best gardening equipment in town, or a store with all types of fabrics displayed on the outside sells billiard balls at the cash register.
I am suggesting a line item type directory, which would say: Billiard ball: XXX store, XZY Store etc
I am not sure how you could make money off the listing except if you could charge XXX store a fee for advertising its full name and location, maybe in the yellow pages section, and charge an additional nomial fee for line items products. Maybe they get 5 line item listing for included in the annual yellow page listing. I think the yellow pages in the US has that now, a product type listing. I think you were planning to have a yellow page type directory. You could also let the members add additional line item listings or categories for free because the members are the ones who are struggling to find some products.
Although the forum certainly can be entertaining with the rants etc, and informative as to as what is happening in town, like the Pirates Bay Closing Thread, it also has been helpful and educational at other times, as in the current B of I threads. There are many reasons to go to the forum.
This is just a suggestion that would help one member , me. Currently I am looking for a service for floor polishing or rental of a tile polisher. I had to use the Sans Rival network to get some leads on a direction for the hunt.

The fee for banner ads and pages on the site is $500, but what everyone is talking about here is the classified section, which was P500. Two separate sections, one for commercial advertisers like the banner you see at the top of the page, the other for the "classified" section for items above P20,000. Perhaps this is where much of the confusion was coming from. This too will change. Yes, it can be paid by Paypal.

From the P20,000+ classifieds page;

"Lots, Properties, Cars, Motorcycles, Apartments in general and everything above 20,000 Peso must be posted in a separate section .
This section is moderated and all adds there have to be posted via the DI-Team. We charge P500 or 1% of the selling price(whichever is higher) for posting a thread. This is valid for one year or until sold.

This can be paid cash in Dumaguete or via PayPal. Official Receipt can be issued. To have your add posted, send us a email with all details, pictures and contact info. We will set up your entry and upload it. You will receive an email when it is up, to control the entry and notify us if you want any changes. Please contact us via our contact-form

Rental Properties

We charge 25% of one months rent for posting your rental property. This is valid for one property and one year or until rented.

Notice the dicrepancy 1% VS .1%, this was very confusing and I still do not know what was meant.


However I think what you saw and was referring was the rate for commercial advertising it will take you to if you click the "advertise with us" button on the home page.

All this will change in the next week or so, so anyone trying to advertise now please hold on until I get this sorted, time is scarce and I'm still learning my way around the software.

If it is any Help here, Azon feels, that it is just a Typo on the percentage thing, .001% is 1%. .1% is 10% I guess you just need to add .00 to the figure to correct it

 

It was obviously a typo, as was, I will assume, yours was a typo in the typo correction!

.001% is one hundred thousandth, while .1% is one thousandth.

1% is one hundredth, or .01
