Update, if anyone knows Ernie from the smoke test center he will sort out this problem with the stickers for 2013 if you bring your original o/r and c/r for the vehicle. Hope this helps.

Ok here I go, I have to register my SUV, they originally gave me 3.5 years rego, it expires towards the end of February, my insurance expired in 2011, and I hope they will not try back date the insurance,

What is the first thing I must do?

I know there is a smoke test to be done, as per the posts here, opposite Cangs.

    What insurance is compulsory?

    Things I have.
Dealers – Vehicle - delivery note – sales note – acknowledgment note-
LTO - certificate of registration – official receipt

    Things I do not have

registration sticker, I do not have any form of sticker the only ones are the ones on my rego plates. nothing on my window

To OP; Man, that is messed up!

I just recently got my 2013 sticker (with new reg) for a bike I purchased back in April. I was using a temp reg issued in July. Bike dealer did the leg work.

The OR shows registration issued in June. Bike was purchased in April. I guess my registration is good till June? Not sure.

    Confused yet?

Look at your registration to see if you have and expiration date. Generally (not always) the last number on your plate is the month expiration date. The sticker year date is the year you re-registered the vehicle, it is not the expiration of registration. They are trying to make it more confusing but have not figured out any more ways YET! Your registration is due the month of the last digit in your license plate, regardless of when it was first registered.
Your insurance policy though, could be due any date of the year, typically one year after you got it. So, might be you need to extend the insurance to cover until registration date.
