Dave, I am by no means what you would call a Gardner, but I would like to come up and have a look at what you are doing, all in all I have some 340 sq mts of land left after the build, 220 as a lawned front and 120 spread around the other 3 sides. I am sure, I can draw some ideas, from the visit.

Jack you are more than welcome no matter where you are on the learning curve. It will be a time to exchange ideas and plants and seed. A time to meet others who may be interested gardening... or life. I will be happy to give you any ideas you like. I was a Licensed Landscape Architect in the State of California for over 4o years so I have a lot of mistakes to draw from my past.
I am experimenting here. Trying different sun orientations etc. Life is a learn curve unless you are going straight down.

Ammonium Phosphate is 16-20-0, meaning is 16% Nitrogen for green growth, 20% Phosphorus for fruits and flowers, and 0% Potash for root development. It is considered a commercial forcing fertilizer for high flower and fruit development. It works on lawns with the high nitrogen content. This is an generic type fertilize. When you buy a name brand fertilizer you are buying a name and the marketing effort behind it. This is the fertilizer used in by the professionals to make things happen. It is strong. Compare the 16-20-0 number with the fertilizers you are seeing in the retail store such as "miracle grow" etc.
Many organic farmers prefer no chemicals, this is an individual choice. I do not use chemical poisons on my plants but do use inorganic fertilizers. They are much faster and do occur in nature in limit quantities.

Dave, I would very much like to purchase a couple of kg of fertilizer and am also (at least the wife is) interested in some eggplant seeds. Looking forward to meeting you and getting some professional advice. I'm living near Bambulo too, but going towards Valencia. I assume you're living in the direction of Bacong proper? Starting Eggplant seedling today for you

I have started 10 egg plants seedlings today for you. They seem to grow quickly in the past but I am not sure if they will be ready for March 8 or not. Since you are close by then you can pick them up at your convenience. I love egg plant to eat I am starting to grow it for myself also. I just put a new plant in the ground, and we can compare those to the one left in the container plant as for size. They were both originally planted at the same time.

Okra is also easy and good to eat. I will be starting to some of those also.

If there is anything else specifically someone wants let me know, and also the quantity. I usually am trying about 10 seedling at a time now to see how to get the best results.

I am about 400 meters east of Bambulo, closer to the highway. I will post directions and pictures of the front of the house as we get closer to the March 8 date.

thank you. I assume I'll take some fertilizer then but not much though, I only have 3 good flowers and 1 lovely bush now. Speaking about aggplants...I'd take 2 or 3.
What about cauliflower (spelling)? Is there a chance to grow it here?

Cauliflower will be planted

I have some Cauliflower seeds to I will plant them in pots tomorrow. We can all learn together how well Cauliflower grows. I once had a great dish of cauliflower that was put into the blender. It looked like mashed potatoes but tasted great. Do you know of any recipe like that for Cauliflower?

I'd appreciate that A LOT. I'm a biggest fan of cauliflower but here it's slightly expensive so thanks! Hope we'll succeed together growing it!
About recipies...mmm...don't know the one you're describing but I know that a cream-soup can easily be cooked of it. I personally prefer it fried on good olive oil separate or together with carrots, onions and garlic. My husband loves it in breading. Also simply boiled in saulty water it may become a good diet dish for healthy nutrition.
