I would suggest that anyone coming from any distance at all to bring an ice chest with just one tube of ice in the bottom and a towel. Fresh starts are very fragile and any kind of heat will very much lessen the chances of their survival.

Thanks for all the offers of help

Thanks for the offers to help from both you and GoGrouper. At this point in time I am not aware of how many people are coming. I do have a much better idea of how many plants seeds will be available.

I would suggest you bring a notebook, to write down anything about the seeds or plants you want to remember. The ice Chest by Shadow is a good idea also. Small cardboard boxes for carrying home the new seedling would be helpful on the ride home. Many of he new seedling will not be read for 2 to 4 weeks, so we will most likely have to meet again. I would be happy to start any new seeds that people want, or if I run out of some particular high demand vegetable.

It seems like it may be a good idea to do this once a month as the seeds and seedling become available through the growing season. Some mentioned moving to other locations and that is OK with me. Let's just see how this first get together works out.

I look forward to a fun morning. Bambulo is very close is someone wants to go the for lunch afteward as a group.

IF YOU KNOW I YOU KNOW YOU ARE COMING AND COULD LET ME KNOW THEN I CAN PROJECT OUT OUR NEEDS FOR FOOD. DRINK, OR OTHER THINGS FOR THE MORNING. I WILL MAKE THOSE DECISION AS WELL AS GIVING DIRECTIONS ON THURSDAY EVENING. THE ROAD HERE IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND EASY ROUTES SEEM TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.

This is the first time I have done anything like this here, or anywhere, so it a learning curve time for me.

Thanks for all the offers of help.

Yes I planted some of the seeds you dropped off, but I only planted 9 varieties, and ten pots of each seed type. Thanks to the number of seeds you brought there are still thousands of seeds left. I also had about another 100 plants I had already planted previously. There are enough hungry people in Bacong, that i am sure we can find homes from all of them even if you had to give them away as a promotional items for your new market store here in Bacong. My neighbors are friendly here and it would be great to get them growing some of their own food.

I enjoy watching the seeds and plants grow. Today some of the Zucchini started coming out of the ground, which was exciting for me as the I love Zucchini. I am not sure we will get to fruit but it is a good start. Egg plant, watermelons and Okra are growing well but slow too. One of the advantages of having so many plants growing is I can experiment as far as sun/fertilizer/soil type etc. Recently I hit the green pepper with heavy fertilizer and I am now getting a heavy crop of young peppers coming on and much better looking leaves
    .
I worked hard for many years... now I just can sit and watch the grass grow....:D

It would be nice to know how many people are coming, but I am sure we can find homes for all the seedlings. Everyone eats.... I would prefer to have extra plants/seeds than the have people disappointed.

I think that is called "Yellow Bell" and does best in full sun with regular watering and fertilizing.

Yes, there will be flowering shrubs and seeds

Yes, there will be flowering and shrubs available also, not just vegetables
These two orange flowering herbaceous shrubs are found in my yard. The tighter one has almost become a weed. We can collect seeds from it as well as there are plants available.

This is the tighter flowering one.

This has almost become a weed in the yard. It is great for bright cut flowers, with almost no care

This is the more open flowering shrub.

We can collect both of these from flowers in the yard.

These are available in small pots and seeds at the Seed and Plant Exchange

Here is one of the flowers that grow wild throughout the neighborhood.

If we run out of plants you can take cutting from the yard

Here are the photos that I could not figure out how to post earlier in the week.

I have three rooted cutting available, of coarse you may take additional cutting for you to root yourself from the yard.
