It seems BI has manufactured yet another hoop to jump through O-| http://immigration.gov.ph/images/FORMS/VariousApplicationsForms/CGAF for Tourist Visa Extension.pdf *edit It just amazes me that they can perpetually manufacture new "requirements" and fees for us but they can't come up with 6 month stamps or exit clearances in field offices.
The only thing that is consistent is their inconsistency. One piece of crass stupidity with this new form is that it seems to require 2 photos every time you extend for 2 months. Even with the vast amount of money that visa fees generates, they are still not capable of retaining and storing an image. They have also changed the date of birth format from the American style of month/day/year to the British style day/month/year. Don't lay any blame at the Dumaguete BofI office, it's not their fault. They are obliged to follow the diktats of Manila, however dumb they may appear to be. The Tourism Board tries its' hardest to get people to come here. The BofI tries even harder to make sure that they don't want to return.
I read somewhere on the LIC forum that only one photo was required but like everything else here it's probably open to interpretation by the person collecting the form. Also note that they want the photo to be within the last 90 days .. date stamp on the photo .. wait for it! I don't blame the Dgte office for just passing the stupidity on down the line. Just saw a news ticker on TV recently that said something to the effect of "BI reports largest revenue ever" .. imagine that!
The way i see it by inventing the I-card they found out that they didn't probably need 75% of the employees doing all the paper work and filing so they created more BS so they could keep them in their jobs..
Ok..I had to wait for a tricycle 45 minutes why?? I don't know just the way it came down...I am going to immigration to extend my tourist visa ..I get there and they have a new form now cool no problem BUT they inform me NOW you have to have a 2x2 photo everytime along with the extension...ok So.. i hike up the boulevard to get my photo and just before I get there my shoe breaks (2 months old) Ouch..Luckily there is a shoe store right across the street. I buy a new pair.....I go get my photo taken 30 minutes..and head back to immigration..everything is ok untill they tell me i need my old passport also ... and... it will save me 800p Why>> Because my New Passport is only 2 months old and they need my old one also for the computer ????? Ok I go back home Sibulan stop and give my shoe to be fixed to repair shop.....and get home ... get my old new passport hahahah and go back to Immigration everything goes fine...But i am hungry so i catch a 1/4 pounder at Mcdoo's and head back home when we stop at the shoe place to pick up my shoe the tricycle has a flat tire Shi888..I give the guy some Pesos anyway to help him out fixing the tire...and finally get home go to the Bar and get drunk Great day !!!! and oh yeah you now can extend to 36 months no strings attached right from horses mouth have a good one
I do wonder where they store all these 2 x 2 photos maybe they have a big building near the passport manufacture unit..
Here is a good business, set up a photo shop right next to the immigration office! Make it a one stop shop with photo copy service too and you have a sure winner!
the office at the top of the stairs above duma immigration does fotos (with a cell fone no less), ya spose they had an inside tip? norm : ))~
