There is a shop in the vicinity of behind the Bacong Police department near the ocean. That has some unusual native examples of craft type stuff. There are some carving there. They also do murals/picture with sea shells. Friendly people and interesting place where they will give you a quick 5 minute tour of the back room so you can see how the stuff is made. I do not think they had a lathe, but I was not looking for one. Just a little information, may not be exactly the place your are looking for but interesting to visit.

    Location of Bacong Artisan Shop

    Ed,

Bacong is about 7 KM south of Robinson Mall. Taking a jeepney type vehicle is an easy way to get there for about 10 P-20P ( a trik will charge up to 200 P depending on how much like a stupid tourist you look like). Tell the conductor where you want to get off.

As you travel south, you will see the park with the huge concrete fish on the right, then the central market on the right. Then on the Left set back 100 meters are some government building. Go back to those building, go to the right to the road heading for the ocean. The Artisan shop is about 50 meter back down that road. It took likes a house/mini mall, but definitely looks like a business over a house.
