Human extinction. A disturbing concept. But I asked myself: When I die, would I even know if the entire human population died along with me? And even if I did know it was likely happening, would I be in a position to care? I mean, I would be dead.
Not had time to watch any of the above, but recently I questioned why would scientists be drilling into Permafrost to look at frozen bacteria or viruses? It must be crazy, then I thought more about it and realised with Ice caps melting these things could once again reappear in years to come.......hey lets not think about these things and get on with living in,....21st century, thanks to Charlie T. :p
There is a pretty cool game on Android called Plague. The goal is to introduce a bacteria/virus/biological weapon into a county and then genetically modify it and wipe out all human existence. Pretty tough game. Greenland and Iceland are tough cookies to kill off in the game.
Btw, I forgot to say this concerning finding a bacteria or virus in Antarctica. I found that in that game if you want to wipe out the human population a disease must walk a very delicate balance between how infectious and how deadly a disease must be. If it's too infectious and takes to long to kill people humans will probably come up with a cure, if it is too deadly it gets scary and countries start shutting down airports, ports and land borders and the disease will burn itself out without any way to spread. (humans also do some pretty disgusting stuff, like creating death squads to kill anyone infected once you have the numbers seriously damaged. Not all diseases do well in cold or warm climates. I find it very unlikely, without some human intervention, that a disease could wipe out ALL of human existence, way to many of us in way too many different climates. My 2 cents.
Thanks "Wrye", I have seen a lot of really sick games and it always makes me wonder where the limits are in what the humans would do to others to gain whatever is to be desired... Not much to add, the history tells as enough already...
I have yet to see a game yet to be as "sick" as what humans already done to their own kind......and the large majority of those acts came from the "good ol' days" that the old timers like to so fondly remember. At least the younger generations have found mostly harmless way (video games) to release their human nature.
Hmm, my fantasy is to be the richest person in the world and have everyone worship me as a god. It has been a fantasy since longer than yesterday. I see a flaw in your statement.
