I bought a 2,000 peso rice cooker in Robinsons 75 days ago. The button that I push down to begin the cooking cycle will no longer stay down. I want a small appliance repair guy to have a look at it. Do you know one? I realize that it is still under warranty but my experiences with warranties in this country is that they SUCK. You give back the appliance, they send it away, then they stall you about when it will be back until you give up and go away. I just want to get it fixed as it is new and nice. Funny thing is that it replaced a 6 year old rice cooker that only cost 800 pesos and is still working good. Its just that the teflon wore off that one and the rice sticks. Oh well, we are using it tonight. Anyway, if you know how to fix that button or if you can recommend someone that does then leave a message. If all else fails I shall go back to Robinsons and go through the usual rigmarole.
Dave, try the LG service office on Larena drive, opposite side to the Convenience store and there is a Fuel station on the other corner JP
Mate, I can't recommend a good repair shop for You, but I will recommend looking on lazada.com.ph website. I have ordered a few things from Them already in the past few weeks preparing for My upcoming arrival there. Everything was delivered a Day or two later by LBC with No problems so far.If You spend more than P1,000 there are no shipping charges. I was curious about rice cookers, so I just had a look. There are too many too choose from and many of them well under 1,000 pesos.Looked like there was at least 5 pages of rices cookers alone with prices much cheaper than Robinsons. I recently bought a nice { Camel Brand } electric fan and some Victoria Secret perfume spray for My Wife, also bought a set of nice Wahl electric hair clippers too. There are many different things to choose from on Their website and I plan on ordering more stuff from Them once I arrive.. Saves Me the hassle of having to get and carry things back from Robinsons or wherever......Cheers
A big thank you to Jack Peterson. I went to the LG repair shop and yes, they could fix my rice cooker. They took a quick look and said come back in a couple hours. 2 hours later I picked it up. Price 150 pesos. Love it. Its good as new now. I am happy I did not need to deal with warrantee people. During the 2 hours we shopped around. Got my shoes fixed = 50 pesos. Got new watch strap for gf's watch and also a battery = 50 pesos + 45 pesos. 3 movies for 100 pesos. Had a dressmaker take in gf's dress (was too large for her) 50 peso. 2 ice cream cones at Jolibee = 20 peso total. The only expensive item was 540 pesos for a replacement tap for the bathroom sink. If it was not for the huge electric bill from running my aircon 20 hours a day, I could almost afford to live in this country on 1000 dollars a month.
KDF, I don't know where Dave got his shoes fixed, but I found a place that I am more than happy with. I have a pair of black leather brogues that are far to expensive to throw away. I needed a repair to the soles, so I took them to Mr. Quickie? which is opposite Merryls shoe store. They cut off one layer of leather, replaced it with perfectly fitted rubber soles, and fitted metal quarter tips on to the heels. Total cost 160 peso. Dropped them off at 11 a.m. and picked them up at 4 p.m. Did a great job and they are perfectly waterproof.
Go downtown to the market, about the middle of the market just walk across the 3 lane one way street/highway and there on the corner are a few freelance shoe repairers. This was the second pair of shoes I had repaired there and in both cases they sew the soles back onto the shoe. (My soles come off from lots of walking) Both times it was 50 pesos and both times I was happy with the result.
I have a Sinio rice cooker it is 6 years plus and still working, with stainless steel pot, which I have never seen on the shelves now
