9 armed men with automatic weapons robbed pawn shop on perdecies st, apparently they took everything, guard ran away! Then they went to sibulan and done the same thing, not a good day to be in the city, just announced they have two suspects but we will see.
The benefit must be quite high when sharing among 9. Anyway the guard was lucky he could escape. Too often these kind of incidents happen off late. Police already caught the bandits who robbed that couple taking cash from their account @the counter of the bank and walked away to be stopped outside the building???!!!
My milkman brought the news an hour ago, he told to me to be alert as well..Now, i keep my savior loaded at my desk, 2 mags is enough to throw my anger. Police caught one of the culprits...i heard 8 more are on the loose!
I was informed of the robbery a few minutes after occurance that 1 culprit was apprehended, 7 at large, and capable of taking hostages/kidnapping. Was told to stay in as much as possible and exercise much caution if we have to be out. Hopefully the one suspect will divulge info needed to track the others down and maybe even to the ring leader. Just be careful out there!!
For future transactions, you can request Optimum money changer to exchange your notes over BDO or BPI transfer accounts. No need to carry cash, all you need is to request their office staff/secretary of the owner to do the transactions at the bank.
I always wondered about this happening. Pawnshops usually only have one guard who is exposed outside of the place. I understand security costs money, but one guard is limited in what he can do. There used to be one large pawnshop in Los Angeles that had electric security doors on their entrance and had to buzz customers in and out. After passing the 1st door it would lock behind them and then the 2nd door had to be buzzed open. Criminals soon found out they could rob the place, but could not leave after getting trapped between the 2 locked doors upon trying to exit. The police loved it too, as it made their job easy as all was caught on video. There are a few convenience stores in high crime areas of L.A. that have the same set-up. That would be an effective solution here, but costs $$.
Also the security guards have no proper training here,I have spoken to a few of them,it's very basic. Most of the guns they carry are very old revolvers and the ammo is so old the chances are it would misfire, anyway I think anyone with a single revolver against a bunch of guys who mean business with full auto weapons has no choice but to run, a sensible option!
I would assume they then give you a lower rate for that service? Or do they give you the posted rate at that time? Is Optimum at Lee Plaza? I may have to go talk with them. Do you just call and authorize over the phone or do you have to go in person?
