Visa Waiver (First 9A Tourist Visa extension) Just finished doing my first extension for my tourist visa at the immigration office here in Dumaguete. Things have changed a bit since I did this last (which was about 2 years ago). You now need a photo to go along with your application form (that was not a requirement last time I did an extension) and the price seems to be a bit more than I remember. No worries about the photos as travel agency next door, conveniently and with a very slight long nose tax , does this for P60 for 4 photos (and P10 for the 2 photocopies of your passport). Question: will I need to provide a picture every 2 months when I extend this visa? I paid P3130 for for this extension. Strange as the immigration website says it is P3030. Where does this extra P100 come from? I don't have my receipt yet (and I'm not going back at 4PM today because....traffic) but I am curious where this is coming from and why it differs from the BoI website. BoI Website - Visa Extension I do see the "may change without prior notice" part on the BoI website so I'm not that concerned with the extra P100 (so long as it is accounted for on the receipt and not going into someone's pocket). I'm thinking it has something to do with the LFR in the photo above. It has a note under the prices that doesn't make any d*mn sense and it says "except Head Tax and Fines" in the description. Actually now that I think about it I remember the first 1 month extension being P3k+ so maybe the price hasn't changed much. Alien Registration Program (ARP) I did ask about the application for the (ARP) but I was told that I cannot do this until my second extension at 59 days. I am guess that this is because you need an I-Card to apply? I asked what it would cost when I apply during my next extension and I was told there will be no cost for the ARP. @Jack Peterson You mentioned that it was going to cost $50 starting at the end of this month. I guess we'll find out next month. More on the ARP from Jack's post. The ARP ( Alien Registration Programme) | Dumaguete Info
OK! Firstly I did say that if your I card was in force it would be a Free thing obviously it was out of date so yes you will need to pay for that That is a requirement any way after your 59 days. Secondly I did say If you have been in the Country for 6 months and over and Not applied it would cost, there will always be some grey areas yes? Obviously you have not yet. So yes lets see what they say on your next extension, It should be a free thing for your ARP and no further Payment. Your Icard will have to be a new one ARP or not. Fines etc will be levied at those that have been her over 6 months already, As you have not on this Trip you go back to square one and you will be doing the compliance they are asking for. The extra 100 peso is for the new visa Sticker they will put in your Passport and yes it is a new Photo each time and they say it has to be in the Last 3 months but I never did. Always used up the batch of those I had. So Hopefully all things are answered for you. JP
I knew I was going to need a new I-Card on the second extension. I guess the ARP is included in the price of that card now. At least it's a little closer to being worth $50 now. (I still don't understand why that item is priced in USD though.) I didn't receive any head service though. Not sure I would want anyone there to provide that service either.
