Well sort of.... A new French Food Restaurant in Bacong, about 30 meters short of the 7 Km marker on the South Highway. Takkris Road Shack... hmmm... not an elegant French sounding name but the food was excellent. A small little informal

place with a large porch like structure facing the hiway. It was a new pleasant surprise recommended to me by a French Couple living in the Bacong Area. The menu includes Pates, Salads, Meat dishes,Sandwiches and Desserts. A rather informal mix of food but just plain excellent tasting stuff. We had both a Pasta dish and Pate sandwich. Light meals but just lite up my taste buds, and of coarse close to my home in Bacong. Our meal was just 240 for two including soft drinks. If you are heading south on the highway it is worth trying for the food. Just look for the yellow marker signs and follow your way to the 7 Km marker, the restaurant is about 35 meters south of marker.

Been there a couple of times, It's just across the road from me. The owner's name is Mike, a really nice guy from France. Tasty food like Dave & imp says. I had a sandwich made of French bread, Jamon (ham). then second visit had steak and french fries. Steak was more like a beef burger with fried egg on top. Still tasty though.

If it is a genuine French restaurant the guys name should be - Michel...............lol........however it sounds good. Is it right on ,and abutting the highway, where the traffic noise and fumes fill your nostrils and ears, and pores ? If so I may be reticent to partake. If not, let me know. Thanks.

Some time ago, maybe over a year or so Did we not have a French Restaurant open in Valencia I seem to Remember quite a Grand Opening and a few Reports/Revues on this, The Name I have completely forgotten I passed it a couple of times and it looked a nice place. What ever happened to it? Is it still Operating? In fact I got the Impression the owners was a Sponsor here. Or was that in another Era?

Visited the place yesterday. The disadvantage is indeed direct next to the highway and lack of own parking facilities. But. as always, you cannot have all. The service and food was great and I rather spend some peso in a place like this where the owner himself shows his hospitality than in some of the restaurants I visited already many years but still don;t know how's the owner. The staff in these places is generally not really interested you are a frequent visitor yes or no; unless you always leave an outstanding tip.

Thank God the food is unique and great because parking is a little problem particularly if you are in a car. Motorcycles parking is no problem. The motorcycles can park on the little double pad right in front of the restaurant, or even a car driving into the spot, but who want to back onto to highway unless you are the normal Filipino driver. You can park a car across the street parallel easily but that requires walking across the highway. That is not a problem if you get there a little later in the early evening. Going between 5:30 and 6:30 probably means a lot of traffic in the area, but later on it is very quiet. They only officially stay open till 7 but you call them they will stay open for you. Obviously the owner is on site and wants to make the customers happy so they stay open. I have even ordered take out by phone. The mobile number is 09054807953 or alternative number 639478042820 (I think this is Wife's mobile number that she has replied to me on)
If you speak French the owner would probably love to talk to you, as that is his native language.

Yeah, the place is pretty durn good. I hate liver but the free liver pate on the home made bread is pretty durn good. We had the home made pasta which was good and the steak (which - as noted above - is like a meatloaf with an egg on top). Owner and his better half are both nice people and welcome you with smiles and good conversation.

We tried the French resto for lunch today, a nice experience and friendly owners. We had a carbonara which was home made and very good, two wholemeal bagettes with country pate and salad. Home made ice cream after.
We also had orderves on small peices bread with pickle whilst waiting for our food for free.
At the end of the meal I was also offered a brandy on the house!

They also sell the wholemeal bagettes and the pate for take out, also saw some different jams in the fridge.

    Highly recommended.

We went there again, and the food was delicious as usual. The home made ice cream was unique, but delicious.
We also got offered a brandy on the house, which was a nice gesture.

As DavyL 200 says... Highly recommended.
