For anyone interested, "A House of Surplus" opened in November where "Gimmick Bar" used to be.

As I live nearby, I ventured over there a couple of weeks ago to take a look, out of sheer curiosity. At this point it appears to be all second-hand stuff (versus literal "surplus" [new] items shipped here from outside the country).

It is mostly clothing, along with a few inexpensive household items such as curtains, blankets, pillows, etc. There is a limited selection of bags (women's purses and some backpacks) and men's and women's shoes at the back. They have not expanded yet to the lawn area (I don't know if they are planning to doing to do so or not).

Just an FYI for anyone that might want to take a look -- I'm sure it will have a wider selection of items with a little more time...

    Note to self: -
Dash over tomorrow and buy my entire wardrobe for 2012, while stocks last, at such low prices.

Near the Chinese Volunteer Fire Station at Daro, you cant miss it, the old Gimmick bar sat beside that wide field of grass and shrubs.

Other landmarks are Isuzu Showroom and Casa de Monteverde a few blocks away.
