Being a person born just after the WW2, I have always considered myself to have been lucky not to have experienced war first hand. While I understand the need for defence of any country at times of attack or threat, The fact that we in the the Western world, have enjoyed a relatively peaceful period, should not mean we become complacent or unguarded. However, after world war two ended and the atrocites unfolded of the Nazi Regime in Germany, The Jewish nation and the state of Israel never gave up the hunt for those who were part of the the Genocide of Jewish people. They hunted them down till everyone of them was found or proved deceased. Fast forward to todays situation in Gaza, I find it difficult to understand that a nation that suffered such persecution, during WW2, could now inflict a war of Destruction and Genocide on the nation of Palestinians, that the people of Gaza, despite its suffering and controlled exsistence already, are bearing one of the worst conflicts we have seen in modern times. Netanyahu has a lot to answer for.
Absolutely Jim, Hamas has inflicted this suffering on their own people, and there are those suffering the most, the innocents ones in all of this. Just as all German people were not bad people, so too, not all Palestinians are bad people. I believe both sides to be guilty of " War Crimes" but the shooting of people rushing for food aid, and babies dying for the lack of it, has gone far beyond any justification of this war. Respectfully JB.
