Good morning. I just wanted to ask an opinion from you guys about what happened yesterday.

My husband traveled from Laguindingan Airport to NAIA-Terminal 1, move to NAIA-Terminal 2 for His connecting flight to LA, then when he gave his Passpost, ECC and Boarding pass to immigration personnel at NAIA-TERMINAL 2, He grab his phone and looked up just in time to see her turning his passport in sideways and grabbing one page like she was about to tear it out. The woman saw him watching and she stopped. Then she said that she had to verify his ECC and left with all those things. He was standing there for a while, finally he got upset and told to other worker that the woman was not supposed to take his passport. The woman had an attitude telling him that she would be done when she was done. When the WOMAN who take his passport came back, He was about to snap a picture of HER, then she said "YOU WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THE PHILIPPINES. I WILL MAKE OF THAT . I know this man he is in the U S army and was called back to do a 2 year term in Afghanistan maybe the army can sort it out for him.

The army isn't going to give two shits if he ever takes a vacation to the Philippines again. Sounds like an empty threat to me though. Have him call the Philippines embassy in the US and see if he is on any of their no travel lists.

And getting upset and acting a fool (presumably) was his first mistake. Gotta take that nonsense in stride.

:stop: You will probably find all this lady was doing was turning the passport to straighten the Bar Code/Bio page before she slid it through the reader. Many Passports get bent during the course of a trip!

It's not the first time I've heard about this scam up there, there was a post a few weeks back and a female local was taking her son for treatment in Malaysia along with her other child. Apparently what happens is the immigration tears a page out of the passport and the other child was not allowed out of the pi as the passport had been tampered with.
She had to leave one child behind as the other kid needed this special treatment, what I don't understand is what does immigration gain by doing this to someone?

How very strange, Obviously this was reported? any idea of the outcome. I mean surely there was a check on passports prior to the departure Gate immigration? Don't certain nationals need an ECC, Children especially.

I read the Article but am a little suspicious of the contents. If I had read many more reports like this I might believe it a bit more but to me if this is true I tend to think it is a one off.
The Lady quotes "I picked it up from the Embassy Yesterday yet it is full of Visa's " for the UK & Schengen
Sorry not buying this at this time. I think there is more to this than meets the eye.
