I have a dear friend in the States who is in pretty sad shape. I've thought about getting him over here because it's going to cost his wife $4,000 a month for his care there. I know it is possible to hire a registered nurse full time for much less, but a nursing home might be better. Ideas anyone?
you need to consider how sad the shape is. with the medical facilities here it is likely that you go to a doctor with a cough and they take a leg off...
nursing homes I haven't heard of any nursing homes here in Dumaguete, there are a few in the Philippines, but not many. Most of the elderly are taken care of in the homes with hired help taking care of their needs, if necessary.
Also consider Your friends health before travel. My 1st trip(24hrs+) almost killed Me before I got here. And I am in good health.
