Saw that comming awhile ago. Western companies especially in the US have been pulling out their call centers from India for awhile as more and more customers would complain to corporate about whenever needing support or new sales always getting someone in India who can rarely be understood and just annoys the p*ss out of you. When the US started passing laws such as if a customer asks for a local (in the US) rep that they HAD to transfer they started looking for other places who's English level was much more on an American level and harder to tell they are in another country.

India was an utter distaster for many companies call centers as many started boycotting companies having call centers abroad which gained support mainly from customer annoyance of not being able to understand Indians.

Don't expect much better here, have you had 'Globe' ever call you up from one of their local centers? You'd better be able to speak Tagalog, as their employees mostly seem to be unable to speak English.O-|

i used to work in a call center where i got to listen to a lot of recorded calls between american customers and indian agents. and patriotic BS aside, while i agree that pinoys' english is far from perfect, i have to say that indians' english is just so terrible it's hilarious

Similar situation was happening in UK. People were so frustrated with the Indian call centre set up, where they were reading very badly from a script, that they started to cancel their contracts. Have to say that my bank in UK closed down its' Indian operation and switched to UK only call centres. Problem is, most of the call centre jobs are taken by immigrants, legal and illegal, so we're back to square one.:p

That is almost a transcript of one of my calls. I once spent 1.5 hours on the phone with "john" from India about a pc problem. It was not resolved after all that time. I ranted about it to a coworker the next day. He told me how to fix it in 30 seconds. True story.

I am down to ask where they are located and if I hear PI i simply hang up, google a bit and invest some dollar to call the company direct for a solution as long i don't need to talk for those moxxxs in india or here it is money wisely spend.

I also changed all my hosts to providers with 24/7 support in (west)Europe or the states. Sadly nothing to do about Globe and Cebu Pathetic
