hello there! i'm gonna be disconnecting from sky broadband by next week 20th of may (and to my dismay i realized that the contract i've had with them expired nearly a year ago and i've been dying to disconnect from their service ever since i've had it) because i've had A LOT of issues with their internet. mainly in bandwidth, online gaming, video streaming, downloading and even in browsing. i don't know what's going on with sky these past few months but they've been making me wanting to smash that modem because of the utter slowness in speed. lag in online games, 2 hour movies buffering until at some point it stops, slow loading times in pages and slow torrent downloads. yes i know the more people subscribe to an ISP the slower the net for the other subscribers will go I get that a lot and i constantly remind myself of that, but i seriously cannot understand why bandwidth with sky can be this slow. i even get F's in speedtest and pingtest.net!

i'm considering globe as my next ISP (i have been with them before in bayawan city and even there their net connection performs quite well even at 512kbps) after i saw how my friend's 512kbps globe wifi with only him using was performing, though i've read a few negative remarks to their service.

i'm an online gamer and heavy internet user and i play dragon nest a lot. what ISP should i go for?

What package did you buy? You will need to buy the high end package from them. Also, they do choke your bandwidth from time to time. You to keep on them all the time.

I am sure that if you did some reading on this forum you will find many happy Globe users. They are all bald, of course, as they have pulled all their hair out in frustration over Globe's service.

FYI. My Smart Bro speed is 1.70mbps. Ping at the moment is 60. It is fairly consistent.

Sky came by my house and left a brochure and according to that, it would cost me double for the same speed.

yeah but aren't their services quite expensive? i'm looking for at least 1mbps service within P1200/month pricing. and so far the only ISPs i know that supply that service is globe and smart.

here' in Dauin the internet is Smartbro and it's nearly dead where I'm at.....

Streaming video? Online gaming? We wouldn't even dream of such a thing. In Dauin success is clicking on an email and taking off to brew a coffee and have a shower. When you get back, the email MIGHT have loaded full page...maybe not
