There was a thread the other day about programs used for calling the US and someone mentioned about linking your phone number to one of those apps. I needed something similar so I went and had a look around. What I found was an app called "Moaxis". It's currently in Beta so not all the functions are going to work just yet, but they appear to be working it out.

What it does is take all the notifications (email, text messages, incoming calls) that come to your phone and it forwards them to your computer. Currently you can only reply to text messages from your computer. Answering phone calls from your computer is an upcoming feature (because, yes, I am too lazy to pick up my phone and hold it up to my ear).

It also loads all your contacts and previous text messages to your computer. Of course you will need to have load on your phone as this basically just works as a remote for it. The app just tells your phone what to do so all costs are exactly the same as if you were doing it form your phone.

You install the Moaxis app on your phone (Android, CrApple or Windows), set up an account, then install the program on your computer and log in. Everything automatically gets loaded on your computer. Currently it is only supported on Windows, CrApple or Chrome but I was able to download the Chrome browser extension running on Linux and it works for me.

I see on the website that CrApple and Windows mobile devices are not supported yet. Sorry about that. (But honestly, seeing Android supported before CrApple puts a smile on my face.)

Sounds very much like the Nokia Suite that I installed to my PC from Nokia?

I have 2x Nokia X7-00 Mobile Phones, each time I plug one into the USB to charge, it automatically syncs all my contacts and messages etc, alerts me when I have received a message (great for someone with tinnitus who often cannot make out the silly phone tones amongst other noises) and I can simply reply to the message by typing on my Keyboard (I HATE Touch Phones ~> FAT Finger Syndrome) and it is packed with features I am still learning or do not understand yet.

I use one for Local Calls and Texts, and the other is for calling and sending texts to the Philippines. The Nokia Suite keeps both Phones as if they were the one phone, works well for me in my Windows Environment which I NEED due to the multitude of available Software for Windows where sometimes I use 3 or 4 different Programs to achieve an effect I am after.

I did buy a new Samsung, but after a week I packed it up and sent it to asawa before it grew wings and flew out the window! :D Should have stuck to Nokia from the start!
