I was wondering if anyone knew the current weapon law here? I know foreigners cannot own firearms but how about air guns, knives, etc? Also, whats the best way to go about getting health coverage if I need to go to siliman hospital or take a trip over to cebu for any reason?
The answers to your questions will differ if you are married to a filipina or single? If married, your wife can apply for a gun license and there is a payable option for a carry permit - except during election time. Outside the central city you will find many guys carrying bolo knives. a shorter version of a machete. Not sure about air guns but locals try and shoot birds in trees in the lot next to my house. Btw, there is a controversial and sometimes emotional post on gun control on this forum.
