I was thinking about adding a sub-forum to the Dumaguete section for local/expat producers selling food items that might be of interest to the people of Dumaguete. Currently the forum rules are a bit confusing for anyone wishing to advertise such products, as the main classifieds section is for personal use and not commercial use and the other classifieds sub-forums are not appropriate.

If there is an interest for this I would like to know. I would simply label it "Farmers Market", it would be free of charge for any freelance farmer (is that a thing?) or producers. Right now I only have one person that has approached me about selling their product on the forum (and I have told them to go ahead and post it to the classifieds section). For obvious reasons, I would like a few more people selling other items before I opened up such a sub-forum. If you know anyone that grows/makes products such as sausage, cheese, vegetables or any other food food product ask them if they would be interested in posting, or allowing you to post for them.

    I'm interested Wrye
From time to time I have lamb meat for sale, this year I sold some live lambs too.
Up to now we sold off what we can not consume our self but if interest in lamb meat grows I could increase production and be a regular supplier on Farmers Market.

Great idea I am sure many would use sell surplus goods they have breed or grown. I know we would follow it .

We would like to shop at this forum although I doubt we would have anything to sell.

I love the idea too, because as you said, it is a bit confusing to know where to post.

Yes it is save and good to have more animals with only a few lambs. The two I sold recently stay together with goats. Lambs like to be in a herd that's why I only sell minimal two but prefer 3 to one buyer. But sorry, at the moment we're low on stock, barely enough for our own consumption.
We keep the lambs 4 months by the mother before selling for P3500 a piece.
A 10 monthts pregnant lamb sells for P5000
Meat on the bone cost P 400 p/kg, you have to buy at least one half lamb weighting between 4 and 6 kg. Males are slaughtered with 12>14 months. Females with 10 months.
If you want I will give you notice when we have stock again. Pls leave your number at 0919-404-6807 (we're located in Amlan)
