Double murder charges were filed against Edwin Sarong yesterday before the Provincial Prosecutor's Office for the death of couple Mariana Filipinas and Enrico Silorio Sienes in Boloc-boloc, Sibulan town, Negros Oriental.

Special investigator III Nick Tagle of the National Bureau of Investigation filed the charges at 4:30 p.m., with the results of the postmortem examination, the affidavits of witnesses, and the extrajudicial confession of the suspect during an interview with the media after his arrest.

Tagle said Sarong, 36, of Brgy. San Miguel in Bacong, Negros Oriental, was arrested initially on charges for carnapping of a motorcycle that was found in his possession in Brgy. Manogtong, Ayungon, Wednesday.

He said another case of robbery is being readied against Sarong, who had admitted that he stole the two cellular phones, P800 in cash, and the necklace of the murder victims. It will be filed by the Sibulan Police, Tagle said.

    Sarong's lawyer is Jun Catacutan.

Tagle said he hopes the suspect will enter a guilty plea.*JG

So two people lost their lives for likely less than $50 worth of goods. What a wonderful place this is. Why can't a thief just take the crap and go instead of trumping up the charges? Are they really that stupid? Theft is a couple months in jail here at best, murder is much, much longer.

Two nights ago my new alarm system (razor wire, motion sensor alarms and soon some flood lights and more razor wire) and dog almost caught the piece of crap that has been breaking into my place while I was home. I got a good look at him. Considering just throwing a kilo of chicken and some 3 in 1 over the fence to my neighbor once a month, since that seems to be the frequency at which someone attempts to break into my place and what they are stealing.....and the guy looked a whole lot like someone who lives o the the other side of the wall from me. Better to sacrifice a kilo of chicken and some coffee than my life. The guy was lucky I was too fat to jump that d*mn wall. I wish I didn't like the landlord and house so much.

Its getting beyond a joke. These sort of people are just so desperate of money, they seem to have no fear whoever is in front of them. My heart goes out for the victims and their families. One reason why i keep a gun in the car as well as under my pillow as well as big dogs around the house. You just cant trust anybody anymore :-(

Wrye83, have it reported/recorded to the police station, sit down with the new Chief of Police ask also their photo files of in and out culprits. If you found the guy on those photos ask the lady police(duty at night) of his whereabouts/records. I guess they can do something about him.

Another thing, install a signboard " SECURITY ALARM & CAMERA AROUND THE HOUSE" (not necessary to have camera) put it visibly on where he gets an access. The thief you got there is probably living near your place. Keep at least 1 dog inside your house, have your openings installed with plain glass windows not jalousie(request your landlord).

Last resorts; hired somebody to terminate him(he almost killed your maid!). Keep a spray bottle of acid for his next attack. If you have a gun, when cleaning it/dismantling try to do it where you think he sees you. Small time culprits are scared with guns and big working dogs!

Pissing in the wind. The police don't do a thing. They could care less. Me accusing a Filipino without video evidence will mean jack all and only cause me more problems with the person I accused.

More razor wire, more dogs and the acid thing might be a good idea if it could be set to a trip wire.

I tried it on a mirror once from 2m away. Made a splat about 2inches in diameter. I would say maximum useful range is ~5m. But don't expect precision on more than 2-3m
