Does anyone know how far in advance I can renew my Philippine driver's licence? It expires later this month so I am guessing I can go in to the LTO office in Robinson's mall during normal business hours and renew it any time now?

Any tips from anyone who has done it? I need to change my address to Dumaguete at the time I renew so can that be done at Robinson's Mall LTO also?

You can get it done now before it expires. Much easier at Robinsons than with the half-wits at the main LTO. If you go for a new licence and the old one has expired they will bill you extra. They will also bill you extra for the change of address - I think it's about 100peso. There was a big sign across the window of the LTO last week stating that there is now no drug test. Not sure if you still have to have the blood pressure and eye test but it's no big deal. I did mine a few months ago, and even with the drug test, eye test, blood pressure and actual application, I was still done in less than an hour.

You were right. of course, Broadside. I renewed yesterday at Robinson's Mall LTO. Arrived at a few minutes before 3 pm and the whole event, including medical and change of address, cost me just over 710 pesos. I was out of there at 4 pm.

No drug test and the medical was a joke. The medical part cost 200 (included in the 710). Now I have a temp licence and I have to go back in 3 weeks for the permanent plastic. Good for 3 more years.

hemmm this is my first renewal of a ph licence, they told me after I deposited my form to come back in one week, because it was my first renewal sounds strange to me.

Out of curiosity, what is the allowable range for blood pressure? I know of more than one person here who has high bp and is on bp meds.

@Brian Aussie, this was my second renewal so did not ask have that come up. I had no such problem with my first renewal but it was at SM Mall Cebu LTO

@Knowdafish My BP was 145/91 on the cuff meter they used for the medical. She said that was high. I said "Yes, I take my BP every day with my meter at home and it runs about `120/80 so this is the highest I have seen it." She said OK and I passed. On the eye chart test you have to cover one eye to read the chart but no one is watching you if you peek and use both eyes. Wink wink nudge nudge. And that is all there is to the test.

I renewed mine a couple days ago. They told me to come back tomorrow. On the return the next day still no license. I asked when it would be ready and all I got was a blank look. I asked, "next month?" and she smiled and I thanked her and went about my business.

I renewed mine last year at LTO office in Robinsons Mall. Got lucky, I guess, from the sound of these hoorer stories as to what happening now! LOL.
Only 2 folks in front of me....A/C was nice and cool.... Got he "medical" next door ( 200Php - no nothing done, just a BP and the doc to sign)...in AND out, with the brand new renewal card in one (1) hour!
