I went to mail some souvenirs from the duma post office overseas. they would not allow me to send the small, metal and or magnetic little souvenirs that are so dangerous......whats up with this? Can i use LBC to send them? any other suggestions. Also, it took me until today to get a christmas card and cd in an envelope that was mailed in December.
I am pretty sure a magnet can erase the information on any magnetic strip like on a credit card, ATM card, and so on. Also CD's or DVD's and so on. So very dangerous to have anything magnetic in the mail. It may also mess up some of the automated mail sorting systems in some countries. I am glad they have that rule. I lost all the information on all my credit and debit cards one time just by laying my wallet on a check-out counter one time that had some type of magnetic reader. Took weeks to replace them all. There may be other reasons also. I don't think they are being unreasonable. I get a Christmas card from one person in the U.S. and it always takes 6-10 weeks. I tell my friends and family don't bother. Even notices from the U.S. S.S. take about 2 months to get here.
There should be a stamp of Duma post office on the envelop showing when it was received there, which would give you an idea of where the hold-up was: Duma or elsewhere.. I received 2 cards last week: one mailed 23 Dec and one early Jan. Only the last one was 'held' in Duma for 6 days before transfer to Bacong post office (I get a txt telling me there is mail - delivery is non-existing). Vicmico
Depends on how they send it if they air mail registered it takes about 9 days fed ex mail takes about the same
Mail is being held in Manila. PhilPost have an agreement with Cebu Pacific, which send mail bags when weight/space permits. Meaning, they get lowest priority on the plane. Have had packages laying in Manila for 6-8 weeks.
