    Are DVD machines available in Dumaguete free of zone restrictions? I.e. can US zoned DVDs be played there? Or should I drag a US DVD player back to Duma in order to play US DVDs?

    I bought a Sony a couple months ago and it will not play my UK DVD's, so I would say anything you buy here is probably zone locked. Depending on model, you may find a hack on the internet to play your US DVD's.

    Just need to change the region code and most players out there have a hidden code for setting region 0/all
