Using the search option there are some postings on this subject but most of out dated. Online info isn't always as reliable as it should be. What I found to apply for is this: The following things are required when submitting your request for an ECC; Application form; Photocopy of passport (bio page, visa pages, latest arrival); Original and photocopy of ACR I-Card; Photocopy of receipt of latest visa extension; Photocopy of order of downgrading (if applicable); Five pieces 2x2 photo. Assuming the above is still correct also important to know when applying for @BI in Cebu city, you can just wait for it or does it take 1,2 or more days before you will get it. Any update or correction(s) of members who stayed on a tourist visa longer than one year and did it recently more than welcome of course and lot of thanks in advance.
Add Added update. If a Foreigner came in with his Filipina Wife and got the Balik Bayan, BB stamped in his passport........ no longer does he need to exit as the Tourist. He may extend indefinitely for now. I myself am well over the 3 years of extensions with my Tourist visa and recently extended again. You can be rest assured, no more exiting, throw away tickets, and a lot of saved stress and dollars. Without the BB stamp, exiting with only Tourist visa is still required. Cheers!
Two things to add: 1. you must also bring your flight ticket out of the Philippines. 2. BI Cebu is not known to be very efficient unless their work speed is helped by the customer. I would consider travelling to Bacolod rather than Cebu.
1. I already have an outbound ticket. 2. I choose for Cebu city since I have to go there anyway to pick up someone who will arrive from Europe. Going there two days earlier should give me enough time to visit BI. Your suggestion about Bacolod I will keep in mind in case of any future ECC.
