Just learned that bringing in pets in the Phils is not as easy as I thought. My sis who works at United Airlines told me that the pet can not be more than 25lbs. But thats domestic flights. My dog is a beagle and she is 5yrs old and weighs 38lbs. I am willing to delay our move and just wait until...cant say it... Or is there any other way to bring her in? FYI our plan is between 3-5 years.
many many issues - one major one is their health. Local virus and skin issues. My friend brought his dog and it's suffered severely ever since. Really a sad thing to see....the dog's on steroids and skin cream and lives a pretty dismal life. Because of the steroids the dogs kidneys are effected and the list just goes on and on. :-(

I brought my two Persian cats into the Philippines about six months ago. There were about 18 months old at the time and are doing well. It is true that a Persian long air cat can live in an aircon environment anywhere in the world. It took about 2 1/2 months to process the paperwork. You have to deal with the Philippine Vets, Your own Vet,the Philippine Consul and the air lines. Read all you can, ie: you do not tranquilize the pets. There is a lot of stuff on line to read. Know you time schedules, as your own vet check can only be a certain time before leaving to get the Philippines Consul paper work. I would suggest that you be able to devote a significant amount of time in the last few days to completing the task. Also if possible visit your airlines with your kennel for approval. Philippine Airlines (PAL) worked with me well. I landed in Manila and stayed a week to let them acclimate to the new aircon systems, then flew to Cebu, and took the over night boat here. The boat ride was the worst for them, riding with chickens in the engine room area was a new experience for them. I would suggest you check on the health of your dog before starting the endeavor as I assume it is a very stressful. I picked up my final papers at the Philppine Consul in Los Angeles at 4 PM, and flew out at 10 PM, cutting it way to close. I went through a lot of crap to make things happened but it was all worth just to watch Home Security individual inspector got through the two cats crap in their litter boxes as they were getting ready to get accepted for the flight. My cost were about $1,200 for two cats including air fare ($300 each) and all the miscellaneous fees and certificates. You can use a pet forwarding company that will do much of it for you. Good luck, it was all worth it as of course as with most pet owners, they are my children.
Brought my boxer dog to here in Himamaylan Via Manila A few years ago, No problem. Just got a Health cert from my Uk vet stating she was fit to fly. Made sure that all of her jabs, including Rabies were all up to date. Down loaded a importation form from the Philippine Min of Agg website Emailed it off to them , cleared my dog with the airport quarantine at Manila Airport, Then had to collect a heap of sigs from various Govt depts in the customs building just by the Airport, it pays to find a fixer at this point, its just a maze. Send your animal as excess baggage its a lot cheaper & just inform the airline that you will be checking in a Live animal. I bouught a Faa/Caa approved Air kennel { about £120 for a boxer sized one on the internet } for her travel just provide water for your pet, Not food & DO NOT sedate your animal. As far as a weight limit is concerned , first Ive heard My Dog & Air kennal Must have weighed at least 60kg So This limit you have been told about could not be accurate. She went KLM AMS/MNL then PAL Manila-Bacolod No problem at all There is No quarantine here so the animal can be released immediately I took my dog out for a walk between flights at Manila. We had all this processed within 2 hours of arriving in the Philippines !.I did however make sure I told the captain on both flights that my dog was in the hold & please ensure she was cared for Etc with a stern look especially on the Philippine leg ! I was A aircraft mech & have seen a few dramas when they forget to pressurize, heat Etc The forward holds...... Mail me if I can be of any help regards
