Your best shot might be ACES at Hypermart Square Valencia Road, phone 422 2337. Their parent is in Cebu and they will send over an expert if it is more than the Dgte staff can handle. But don't know if they do laser.

I had good and quick results with ACES at Hypermart Square Valencia Road, twice with two different patients. They solved the irritation problems in the eyes. Never asked about lazar treatments. If you have any issues with corneas, then you may consider corrective implants. I did that over 5 years ago in the states, and have saved enough money on glasses alone to pay for the treatment. I also do not have the embarrassment of picking up ugly ladies anymore either. :o o: I solved a lot of problems at the same time.

Wow, this place attracts very knowledgeable people. Not one but two different patients were able to help so you didn't have to see the doctor!?!? :yippee:

I saw the doctor for an eye infection, most likely caused by road dust and dirt. With an analysis and medicine it was resolved with one visit very economically. I took a girl friend there because she has an eye problem that was getting worst for a couple of days. I took her there and one visit resolved the problem for her, but not for me. :o o: She could then see well, too well, took one look at me..... one look at the young eye doctor and left me... :wtf: I guess she gets free eye care now... lol

I have to agree with Aces. Its the only place around to get specialty laser care setup. They have a doctor come in from Cebu to check you out but the laser surgery is done in Cebu. I went through Doctor Tan at Aces a few years back to have Lasik done on both my eyes. I was a borderline person that 10-15 years ago would have been impossible. I have never had an issue and Doctor Tan did an amazing job. 50kp for both eyes at that time while in the US I was quoted at $3-4k for both my eyes.

Just be careful Lenny, Floaters in the eye can be the Start/Symptoms of Something else. For me, I would get a checkup with your GP

Still no actual laser eye surgery here in Dumaguete. For that you go to Cebu or a different major city. With your issue I'd see a regular doctor and if they felt anything out of the ordinary get a checkup at Aces and see what they say. Like others have said floaters starting all of a sudden can be a sign of a much worse issue. Floaters themselves are rarely treated and generally become less noticable over time though.

Lenny, I started having floaters when I turned 59, scared the hell out of me thinking I must have a big problem. A lady my age told me she had them too and no big deal, my doctor confirmed the floaters and said a lot of people get them as the age. They pretty much went away after a few years.
