Whatever next, I know that everything in the PI has a value but fake Rice, now fake smokes, I doubt it will be a Foreigner that buys them but we know you can't fix Stupid Fake cigarettes seized in Dumaguete
If you think the fake cigarettes are bad. Go to the link (in the opening post) and keep scrolling to the next article that reads: Bangladesh family arrested over fake penis scam A family in Bangladesh has been arrested after using a fake penis to trick villagers into believing a genie had performed a sex change on their teenage daughter, police said Wednesday.
This has been a problem for years. I remember having to check the fine print on the Marlboro Reds. If the pack had solid lined bold numbers under the bar-code (instead of number drawn with tiny little dots) then the packs were fake and tasted like you were smoking a meth lab when you lit one up. Another way to tell was to put the pack under a black light. If the white part of the pack looked dim it was original Marlboro, if it glowed bright white it was the fake Chinese crap. Back then the hard packs were the safest bet (I assume because they are slightly more expensive to manufacture and not worth it for the Chinese assholes faking the packaging). They raided Chinese ran fake cigarette manufacturing operations in Manila quite frequently back then. They were all over the place a few years ago. You would get cartons of them in the Sari2x stores quite frequently. I taught several of the Sari2x store owners in Valencia how to spot them (they wanted to know why I stopped buying cartons from them) and the problem seemed to go away in short order. They are hard to spot to the untrained eye though.
I'm starting to despise the word "fake". "Alternative fact" is almost preferable at this point. I wish someone would give Trump a thesaurus: Spoiler: Fake Synonyms Main Entry: fake Part of Speech: adjective Definition: false, imitation Synonyms: affected, artificial, assumed, bogus, concocted, counterfeit, fabricated, fictitious, forged, fraudulent, invented, make-believe, mock, phony, pretended, pseudo*, reproduction, sham, simulated, spurious Antonyms: genuine, original, real, true, truthful Main Entry: fake Part of Speech: noun Definition: imposter, copy Synonyms: actor, bluffer, charlatan, cheat, counterfeit, deception, fabrication, faker, flimflam, forgery, four-flusher, fraud, gold brick, hoax, imitation, imposition, imposture, junque, make-believe, mountebank, phony, plant*, pretender, pretense, pseudo*, put-on, reproduction, scam, sham*, sleight, spoof, swindle, trick Antonyms: original, reality Main Entry: fake Part of Speech: verb Definition: pretend Synonyms: act, affect, assume, bluff, copy, counterfeit, disguise, dissimulate, fabricate, feign, forge, put on, put on an act, sham, simulate, spoof It's getting old, mix it up please.
I like that phrase. Example: History says Hitler killed himself in his bunker but there is a TV series presenting huge numbers of "Alternative facts", it simply means there are different ways of looking at things. So with the cigarettes. The "Alternative facts" would be that the Chinese believe they are making the same product so the put the same name on it. They are real cigarettes with a real name, its a stolen name but still a real cigarette, not like its made with oregano or something.
Interesting view on this thing. As long the cigarettes are behaving like the original while smoking, then it can be accepted as alternative facts. If they are dangerous due having poisonous stuff inside, then they can no longer be considered to be a sort of alternative facts. Other people would still say that these are alternative facts, because there are still these cigarettes but they are dangerous facts.
