Hi! Im John Sclafani and I just joined this forum. Why? Cuz I just read an article online regarding the assistance that
members of this forum have given with regard to Sendong.
    COUNT ME IN !!
I have assisted the people here in my Barangay...Motong, but I know there where more affected areas. I am so very happy to see that we can and ARE making a positive difference to these wonderful people...especially the children.
Well my new friends of this forum, please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can do, anything that you need.

At the service of the People,
    John Sclafani

Thanks John! BTW, speaking of Italy, when I was explaining the map of Europe to my rather geographically challenged Filipina wife, I said, "see, Italy's a boot, just like Negros."

"But it's pointing in the opposite direction!"
"Well honey, the Philippines is an eastern (Asian) nation, so their boot has to point east. Italy is considered a western nation, so theirs point west."

"But the Italian boot looks so much nicer than ours!"
"Don't feel bad honey, they have been making boots a lot longer. The Philippines will catch up some day"

Quizzical looks on both counts, but no questioning my veracity.

That was a long time ago, now the response is '" 'tado " - frying pan in hand

@Sclafani1...HA, she liked that! And re: Sicily / "the deflated football", I was (just now) showing her Sicily and we saw that Siquijor was kind of the geographical equivalent as Negros 'boots' it too. Strangely appropriate, as I'm told they've got a pretty mean equivalent of "malocchio" there. My best friend in elementary school was named "Colacurcio", and he swore his grandma had it! Sweet old lady who could cook like nobody's business, but you never dared turn her down when she said "mangia", even when you had just finished your own dinner at home
