I have a friend moving to Dumaguete soon and wanted to pick your brains on housing in Dumaguete City.

Anyone aware of apartments and townhomes that are finished to a higher quality and western standards? He's looking for long term rentals.

Any locations/street names to look will be greatly appreciated

    Thanks,
    Mark

Not sure, but there is a guy Name James that lives there and drinks almost every day at Coco's. I will also do some checking and see what I can come up with.

There used to be one located in Pulangtubig, just a few steps from St. Paul University--the units there are new and high-end and the price is around Php 12,000-Php 15,000. There was a "For Rent" sign once when I passed there but I do not know now if it's been taken. You can give it a try though.

The Sol y Mar Bldg where Globe is located is owned by a Spanish family....as of a few years ago they were renting units at P25,000 per month but not many are available for rental. Only the top two floors have unobstructed views. And as far as High-end goes...well, they are as good as you would find in Dumaguete but not Western standard.

A friend moved out of the Globe Bldg. a few months ago. He was paying 25,000. His only complaint was the noise, "music", and inexplicably that he couldn't get Globe broad band.
