    I would like to upgrade from my crappy 2MB plan with Globe when I get back (I usually get .5MB down at best with them).

    Calling the situation of Internet service in the country as “pathetic” and “unacceptable,” Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero said he would look into ways the government could intervene and boost the nation’s information technology (IT) sector.

    “The current situation in the country is, sad to say, unacceptable. The state of internet speed is pathetic, and unless we remedy this situation, our IT sector is likely to suffer in the long term,” Escudero said in a statement.

    Atleast there are a few discussing the sad state of the internet here. Just maybe they are starting to realise how far behind everyone else this place is!

    Since they just started discussing it we can expect a law to be passed in the next 5 years, the SC to rule on if it is constitutional 5 years after that, wait another 5 years for the executive branch to enforce the law and another 5 years for the ISPs to become compliant. So expect to see something done in no less than 20 years from now.....which by then the PI will be so behind the rest of the world again the process will need to be started over. Rinse, wash, repeat. :wink:

    I had mentioned that Bayantel was a good source for the Internet. I take that back after they robbed me! See my other post on this thread.

    Most of the time our globe works well now we have added another router to their piece of crap, we subscribe to the 5 meg service and usually get around 4.6-4.9 meg.

    That's what we are on, but only getting .5 to 1.5 at best and only one bar shows up on modem. That's hard wired.
