    The good book says...."Young men will have visions, old men will have dreams"
    So I find myself having nightly dreams, sometimes the dreams are really realistic, as if it is really happening, till I suddenly wake up.
    What I have noticed is depending what sleeping position I am in, determines the type of dream that wakes me up.
    On waking up, lying on my right side, after the dream, can be quite scary at times.
    Sleeping on my left side gives a deeper sleep pattern, as does sleeping on my back.
    Question being;
    Has anyone else on the forum, experienced similarities to mine while sleeping,
    or am I really a one off.......

    I rarely, maybe once a year, wake up from dreaming or remember a dream. It's always been that way, I don't think my preferred position has anything to do with it. I prefer sleeping on my back with my hands under my bum. Strange I guess. I started doing that years ago because asawa claims my hands flail like I'm fighting when I dream. It also seems to help alleviate sciatica flare ups. Right side induces coughing. Left side makes my shoulder ache. Zero G when I'm sick or allergies are messing with sinuses.

    Yes, similar to to me, I have been known to kick out during the dreams, thankfully not recently, as the wife threatened to sleep in the other bedroom!
    I have also experience cramps sometimes, which make my leg jerky, drinking more water helped with that.

    I sometimes get leg cramps in bed and they are excruciating. The best solution is to get someone (!) to pull the affected leg or to bend the toes inwards (or both). If no-one is around then stand on the floor and lift the heel to put pressure on the toes.

    I agree that this can be affected by my dehydration but also is definitely connected with back issues as the sciatic nerve is the longest in the body and runs from the lumbar spine down to the toes.

    Most of the time I remember bits of my dreams when I awake, even though parts come back later in the day (when some observation or thought triggers that memory). I am sure I am not alone in struggling to remember an interesting dream (some could be movie plots) upon waking and as I struggle even more to recall so the memory quickly fades. But because I then recall parts of the dream later, it proves that the memory is still in the brain but becomes inaccessible. So memory is about what is in the brain but also what can be accessed.

    Lack of potassium and salt. I use to get those almost every night, now I take electrolyte powders in the evening. leafy green veg is good for potassium including spinach. ( ask Popeye the sailor) Banana is another but you may have had so many in Borneo.
    Be careful with spinach if you have kidney problems, high in oxalate's.

    Orangutan have a keen sense of fashion.
