Thanks Jack, i went there but the vet was not there so we went to Acuna in piapi they were vere good. John hsa a viral infection and not much chance of survival. I had a Askal in the Phipippines before and he only had rabbies and worming.i was never aware that the had to be vaccinated and JSohn was never done. So a big lesson has been learnt, they will try a bit more treatment if he is no better in 2 days ill have him put down

I'm sorry to hear this Neil.
Do you mean that he had only the rabies vaccination and de worming but is not vaccinated for distemper?
His brother is doing fine but since reading this I keep a closer watch on him.

Hi m8 yes only rabies n worming , what he should have had was parvo vaccine it should be given every 4 weeks from 6 weeks of age till 18 weeks of age i did not know this local dogs have immunity to it and dont need it, rottwieler are the worst breed to be effected by it . i would get your dog done m8 as once he show signs of it its to late, he may got it from playing with the local dogs, i read it can be carried by ticks, rats mice. sad house here at the moment

Sad to hear of Big John's troubles and sure hope for a full recovery, I know you are very close to him. You might think about slipping him a spoon of sitver twice a day it saved my Rotty's life.
