Does anyone know where I can find a hand crank Ice cream freezer? New or used would be fine. I would consider an electric one, but with all of the brownouts I would prefer a hand crank. Thanks in advance
I can just picture it now. You are forced to buy a gasoline powered generator to deal with the blackouts in the midst of an ice cream making session. Yup, hand crank seems right to me!
I blew my wife's friends away the 1st trip I had to the Philippines 2 plus years ago by making vanilla ice cream with 2 zip lock bags. You put the ice cream ingredients in one bag, and ice and salt in the other, put the sealed ice cream bag in the bag with the ice and salt mixture and......shake shake shake. Works great for limited quantities! Other than that I know Target and Walmart stock the hand crank units!:D
Thanks for the idea of the zip lock bags... We might have to try that just for a taste of some homemade Ice cream. I know with the hand crank one it is easy to find a kid to turn the crank.... I don't know about the shaking of the zip locks... I will probably have to have one shipped over :(
I know someone that has a commercial Icecream machine, pretty sure he wants to sell it, if anyone is interested, pm me and I will give you his contacts.
