FYI: Saw Lord Byron's Ribs under construction on Hibbard Ave. today. Located between Neva's Pizza and Sta. Teresa Resto. Completion date...unknown.

Saw on their FB Page Lord Byron's opened on Monday 28th January. The text states: "See ya'll at 12 NOON tomorrow at Tugas, Piapi-right beside Dr. Absin’s Christmas house." No mention of days and times but will be there soon and report.

Follow up on my post above. Messaged the management for opening hours and they responded:

"We open at 11am daily and close at 2am"

Am looking forward to seeing if it is as good as it was - in my view the best ribs in Dumaguete and the burgers were pretty good too.

Wow! 2 AM? There's not many restaurants or even bars in Dumaguete open that late.

And how did I not see this place? I live in the area and I walk by there all the time. Though the past two weeks I have been cooped up in the house. They must have built fast or moved into a place which was ready to go. I'm guessing they moved into that eatery which was next to the Christmas house.

It’s the same quality of ribs that we experienced at the former location. Had lunch there Tuesday and met friends there today, however, today, the place was crowded at 11. After ordering andwIting for an hour, the waitress told us that a menu item one of our party ordered had never been delivered, so it was out of stock—AFTER SITTING THERE FOR AN HOUR! It will be a long time, if ever, that I return. The ribs at Chantilly are as good, but the sauce, not quite!

I think the best method to deal with this very common situation (the 'out of stock') is, if a person has a particular menu choice they like, then ask "Is it in stock" before you order anything else - if not then you can leave. I recently ordered at Pasta King and, although it was only about 5 minutes before I was told the lasagne (the reason I go there) was out of stock, my wife had ordered her food and we were drinking our mango shakes (yes, hardened drinkers you are thinking) - it was just too awkward to leave and so I ordered a pizza, which I did not really enjoy (until I brought the remainder home and added lots more cheese and a few other things). It occurred to me then to ask in future if they have lasagne as soon as the waitress greets us and come back another time if they do not.

Btw, anyone know of other good places to eat lasagne?

Are we talking pizza king or pasta king. I really like your suggestion in regards to the out of stock menu.

Reminds me of Chin Long when I first came to Dumaguete 8 years ago. Went there with the wife (now ex wife for years) and we ordered drinks and 1 thing to share and they came back a moment later saying "out of stock" so we ordered a 2nd thing which again they returned a minute later "out of stock". Well one more try, we ordered a 3rd thing and returned with the drinks and "out of stock" yet again. As they placed the drinks on the table we just stood up and left. I avoided them with a hatred for years but finally returned 3 years ago or so and haven't had any major annoyances with them since.

Must have been 'Pasta King' - so thanks and I amended it.

You guys can't get any of these restaurant names right. Chin Long. Pizza King (the pizza was horrible.) Westerners have the long nose, I guess the Chinese have the long chin. We should open a restaurant right next door called Nose Long just to mess with them. We'll see who can sell the most food. If that doesn't work, then we'll up the stakes and call it Dick Long.
