Many of you who have been here for any reasonable amount of time, particularly the British crowd, may remember Louis Haar. Louis was my predecessor as the British Embassy Warden here in Negros Oriental. Sadly, I have to report that Louis passed away in London a few days ago. Additionally, some of you may also know David Lear, who is the British Embassy Warden for Siquijor. Since May, I have been standing in for David, covering Siquijor in addition to Neg. Or., while David is in UK for medical treatment. I am in contact with David, who tells me that he has recently had some nasties successfully removed from his face and is now undergoing a course of radiation treatment. The long term prognosis is good and he hopes to return to the Philippines at the end of the year. David is not a member of this Forum but he is a lurker and reads it now and then.
