Thailand, one thirth of the country is flooded, not only the area around Bangkok.
It is expected that also Bangkok center will be flooded later this week (Chao Phraya river overflowing)
Bangkok Domestic airport Don Muang has stopped operation, the (new) international airport is still functioning as normal.

The real disaster will be in the form of typhoid and cholera as the drinking water becomes contaminated.

I was in thailand from september 15 to october 14 and got back 2 weeks ago and just in nick of time before airport got flooded and closed...I took sleeping car train up north to chiang mai from bangkok and the train made it but most of the land scape looked like wet rice paddies or flooded rice paddies....After 3 weeks up north in chiang mai, my train was cancelled from flood and my refund got the bus a nine hour trip back to bangkok and all 9 hours of driving south was nothing but inundation with water, barely few miles would pass without water being up to the roads edge and in some areas torrents were flowing under drainage ditches and all river crossings were up to the road water levels..some places we actually drove through flood waters and one bus stop had flooding coming in and boats waiting in the taxi and tricycle pickup lanes.....In bangkok the waters were washing in from such a wide swath of the country that wildlife like an 8 foot lizard (monitor, maybe Goanna) washed up on shore in the heart of metro bangkok from the river and scurried into the city under construction material....I got some flood footage 4 megabytes full...My friend pulled up footage of huge mekong catfish hauled in from in town through the flood waters bringing in the wild life.....It is a mess what i saw and it got much worse after i barely made it out and back to manila and negros...I like thailand which is what i went to find out so it was worth it to go and make it back when i did....

A map of the flood situation in Bangkok.
Most hotels in Bangkok are not seriously affected bij the flooding (exept around Don Muang airport).
As a reminder, the international airport Suvarnabhumi is in Samut Prakarn district and not under tread.
The old International airport Don Muang is closed but was already for some time only used as domestic airport.
