There are obviously many groups of drivers here that fall into the stupid driver category but my experience has been that the most dangerous drivers are the Dgtre-Bayawan Van drivers. They deserve the "middle finger" sign. Just my pissed off opinion.

Same as V-hire drivers in Cebu.
Drivers of Ceres liners in Cebu seem to drive more safely now, mabe also in Negros.

I'm frequently stunned beyond words when I see some of the hairbrained, high-speed stunts these jokers pull from behind the wheel of these rolling scrapheaps.
Inadequately maintained, jury-rigged, top heavy and bad tires.
I've stopped buses before and gotten myself out because the driver was taking chances with moves that could have easily led to a major crash.
In my opinion, it's not worth risking ones life just to make the next ferry on time.

get forced off the road, did ya? ya probably should keep that middle finger outta site so no one decides to add it to their trophy shelf.

i've been driving the saiton/duma hi-way once a week for the last 4 months and i'd put the duma-bayawan vans at the top of your list along with anyone that pushes/bullies their way down the road without respect for life; mostly bigger vehicles, alot of which are suv's and larger pick-ups.

i call the saiton/duma hi-way stretch of hi-way a slalom course with moving flesh and blood gate posts.

    norm : ))~

There are laws here, but unfortunately no to little enforcement. It's almost always "after the fact", as in after the accident, after the death. My experience are the motorcycles "think they own the road" and they obey almost zero laws or common courtesy. It amazes me that hundreds are not killed everyday as they pull out without even looking. For some reason it is the other driver that has to look, swerve, stop not them. Just plain rude and no respect what-so-ever. And put a muffler on those things would ya. Ever heard of noise pollution.
I would venture a guess that perhaps as many as 50% of drivers are not licensed.
What do you all think ?

Yep, agreed. Just as dangerous are the untrained and unsure drivers who are so incompetant they drive slower than a funeral. Those that are in the right hand lane and then swerve left to turn left with no indication are just as bad, along with the dickheads that over take you on the outside just as you are about to turn left. And has anyone ever seen a local driver who can make a left or right turn at 90 degrees instead of cutting across the road and turning in to the side road on the wrong side ??
The amount of head injury cabbages who now permanently occupy beds in the local hospital is probably a statistic that the local authorities would rather not talk about.

Please make a distinction between the words, "Driver" and " Steerers" there is a difference.. I think most of the complaints here are about "Steerers", myself i have seen very few local "Drivers"

Participating daily in Negros Oriental traffic circus is more or less like doing a survival test specially when only on 2 wheels. All comments stated in afore posts are true but the local population doesn't seem to be impressed. As long as authorities, LTO included, will not enforce all those traffic laws and sue or fine violators nothing will change.

Actually, the same can be said walking the sidewalks in Phil, that is if there is any room to walk them, most pedestrians here walk exactly the same as they drive. Just as dangerous walking, .................. LOL :D

Lets not forget the fun mixing motorists and pedestrians at intersections.................

Having said, that, I am aware of the fact that I have to assimilate to the conditions here or leave. I do like it here, and I want to stay, so I have to exercise more patience and tolerance, which I am certainly not famous for.........LOL:D

And learn to have 360 degree vision, and reflexes like Bruce LEE - that is when he was alive of course.

    Good luck to me................O-|

    Paul.
