We bought a house recently which is located too close to a very large bunch of bamboo. The owner/neighbor is quite willing to have it removed, but we're both concerned about possible damage to fences and other structures when the pieces fall. Cutting bamboo is not like cutting some trees where you can control where they will fall with considerable precision. So, I think I need someone who is quite skilled in removing bamboo so as to minimise collateral damage. Anyone have a suggestion?
There is a street going to Robinson’s from the Dgte Public Market where Espinosa’s furniture is, and to your right is a bamboo supplier who might like to do it providing they can take the bamboo for free or for a small fee. You can try asking them see if they’d do it.
They usually do it manually---you know, using a bolo or huge knife to cut each bamboo stalk. There are people here whose job is just that----cutting branches of trees, etc.
One of the newest, largest and best suppliers of bamboo is Kawayan Collective in Dauin. They might buy or almost certainly would know of people who can cut yours...
Buglasan Festival Capitolio-area, in one of the booth they diplay a sign "we buy your bamboo". If you are going to Buglasan anyway, maybe they can tell you what you need to know. Sorry, I can't remember which City's/Town's booth it is,
