I'm curious if it would be legal to drive a gokart (I'm not talking about a kids goKart), would be legal to drive on the streets in the Philippines. There are GoKarts with fair sized engines, a rollcage, headlights and signals, shocks, etc., and was just curious if anyone has ever tried to drive get them registered for street use?
Good question, but to give an answer.........what's legal and not in this country. For instance, motorbikes should have 2 side mirrors, in practice I seldom see. After sunset a car/motorbike/tricycle should have working head- and tail lights. Should every driver without give me one peso, believe me, within one year can be a millionaire. Seen many strange, bizarre vehicles sometimes on the road and nobody seems to worry. Just go with the flow, it has to be extremely unusual to call something illegal in the PH. Though when you're a kano you cannot do what the majority of filipinos mostly do, which is, just ignore any law and be flexible.
LTO says no to registering ATV's. I inquired when I wanted to add them to my moto rental fleet. The ones you see running around with plates are impoundable but again....... its who you know. As a foreigner I would not want to be in an accident on my atv and try and argue whether or not the plate and reggy is valid.
Ron, I have a friend there too, he probably registers and issues a plate for a karabow if somebody wants to ride around downtown in rush-hour (just add some motivation and express-fee). In terms getting involved in an accident with a one-legged drunk, sleeping trike-driver riding backwards while sleep-texting, I still would not like to be the karabow rider as a foreigner.
Haa Haa I was thinking of importing a Giraffe with high clearance to avoid traffic jam's. Just wondering where to mount the mirrors?
never mind the mirrors, as long your Giraffe wears no sleeve-less shirt and slipper you should be fine
