We packed a picnic lunch to take to Twin Lakes on Sunday 30th Aug. New regulations now state that NO cars or mbikes can drive up to the higher carpark - you are expected to pay at the gated entrance near 1st lake and leave your vehicle there and drag everything up by foot. According to the "rangers" the new Presidential decree forbids "disturbance" in a nature park which includes driving up the very large hill to the car park at the top. Be warned you need to walk up there and back by foot. Needless to say we are never going back there

Wow! And that part is seriously steep and must be around 2kms to the resto from there!
That is really going to knock the locals who run the resto and boats up there also.

Seems a case of the rangers taking the decree literally. [ No disturbance of park ] - noticed other tourists turning back as well. If they offered a shuttle service would understand - Maybe they will offer a "pay extra " option to take ones car up later

It seems more like politics to me and now the road is finished local government want it all. My personal opinion is the small resto, boats and tables to rent around the lake are a completely separate issue to where you pay to go in.
I wouldn't be surprised is someone is trying to drive them out as only a small village just below where the Dner office is runs everything above.
They have big plans for this place int the future like canopy walks in the forest and cottages for the night.
