It will be interesting to see if America will pull out of South Korea as per the original agreement when Russia and America intervened all those years ago, Russia pulled out of the North as agreed, but America has maintained a presence and refused to talk, whereas the North and South wish to work together to have both a ruling Communist State and a Democratic State between them, as a united Country. They believe they can do it and believe it can work with some give and take on both sides... However; with a madman at the controls, I highly doubt it will have a good outcome for either the North of the South in the long term...
:soapbox: I fail to see how a Democratic and Communist country can exist, the two words themselves are Contradictory. What chance would any Coalition have. With Communism there is always the saying, we are all Equal but Some are more equal than Others. Hmmmmmmmmm I wonder. Just who is Pulling the Strings on this one JP:worried:
Seriously? They have had talks off and on for the last 60 years and now they are resuming talks that broke off in Feb of this year and we expect some potential good to come from said talks? This is strictly a political ploy by both sides. Very soon you can expect requests for aid to come from N. Korea as they have suddenly become friendly with the south with these peace talks or whatever they call them these days. Both parties will look like "reasonable" regimes as they are will to talk about having more talks to resolve the former talks and lay the ground work for future talks. As JP would put it, blah blah blah blah blah.
You can have a democratically elected communist country. One is a political ideology the other is a economic ideology. In theory, they do not conflict with one another, though in practice communism gives way too much power to the government and they have, historically, abused that power. There is no way for capitalism of the South and "communism" of the North (it's not really communism, it's socialism....kind of) to coexist.......and the brand of "democracy" that North Korea practices (yes, they claim to be a democracy) certainly wouldn't mix well with the South's democracy. The only way that conflict ends is for North Korea to implode or for one side to completely take over the other by force. Seeing as how the South is backed by the most well funded and equipped military in the world I highly doubt the North will be the one who wins that one.....though it's not a fight I would want to be anywhere near. That is in no way different from capitalism, socialism or any other type of "ism". Money is power/power is more money......does not matter what government or economical model you live under.
North Korea threatens to break off peace talks..........and I haven't even gone to the bathroom yet. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/new...087819802?nk=0fc996fbdb018733328c5a020eb503f0 I think Kim-un-dung has hemorrhoids.
:worried: Well maybe the North have found out the South have tape recorders now, so they can't deny their Lies or Propaganda? One for each end of the round table and 1 for the lurkers :Lurking: Silly post? Yep about as Silly as any Meeting between these two Countries:nuts:
