Hello, Anyone have reference of a good ophthalmologist in Dumaguete? We have heard of a Dr. Albert Leonardro Flores at Holy Cross and Silliman? Anyone have any experience with him? Anyone have any information on apparent high instance of blindness in Negros due to cataracts? All best,
Also, Why is it so devilishly hard to contact any medical personal in this city. Okay, there's reasons in a big city, too many people trying to get through etc, but here in Dumaguete? Come on already. How do people ever ask questions of medical staff? Or is the intention not to have any questions due to the extremely high level of expertise?
ACES is equipped to deal with cataract surgery. Nobody should go blind because of a degenerative cataract with the proper removal and replacement with a new lens. Yes, if a cataract is left without removal, the person will have very limited vision if it is extremely cloudy. But if it is a congenital cataract, there may be permanent damage already, and cataract removal may do no good.
Many thanks to Charlie T and Redneck Charlie T and Redneck, Many thanks indeed for your most useful info, and we do mean most useful. Made contact immediately. As to second point we raised, why is it so difficult to contact medical staff here, we meant as concerns Silliman in particular, and then Holy Cross, only facilities with which we have had communication. It is pretty much impossible to get an email for any of the medical staff. At least that is our experience so far. All best, CL and JJ Enterprises Incorporated
I have to agree with you at the frustration of needing phone numbers of businesses or doctors and it being next to impossible. Phone books are scarce and probably limited. Most docs, once you get to the office, will give you the office number, sometimes the secretary will give you her number, and most of the docs themselves give me their private numbers. It is just making initial contact that is the hardest. Hope you were able to get the help you were needing!
Does anyone have more recent experience with ACES at Hypermart Square, or other eye doctor in Dumaguete?
I went to ACES, after hearing they are the best. The doctor examined me and said they would have to send their specialist over from Cebu to determine next steps. After a couple of their cancelations, I gave up. Fortunately, my double vision improved after a few months without treatment.
For me, I am still Shouting the praises of Vicky Santiago now at Ever Mall on Perdices. 9+ years and no problems. 422 9904/ 422 1028/ 0917 327 1258
