An expat that I've been following via his YouTube just posted a video that he was denied entry back into the PI after a trip back to the U.S. His Filipina wife was allowed re-entry. Reason for denial; overstayed his visa in the PI on his last trip. He had to fly back to U.S. and awaits his wife gaining a letter from the Commission AND receipt showing payment of P150,000 fine. Guess they're serious about not overstaying your Visa.

It makes you wonder how he got out of the country without paying his visa, maybe by boat as I'm sure immigration would have denied him leaving via legitimate means.

I wondered the same thing but, he posted a video of their airport departure to the U.S. and didn't mention any problems. He's resided in the PI several years. One of his videos was his 5th wedding anniversary here in the PI. Maybe he was just late once too often in extending his Visa; he didn't deny the charge.

He just posted another video with details. Evidently he stayed in the PI over the 36 month period without leaving. In fact, he stayed 5 years. Here's the the 5 minute video where he explains.

First, I'm surprised he didn't know about the 36 month limit, second I'm surprised BI didn't remind him when he applied for extensions past 3 years.
