It's been awhile since I was there. I thought remembered hearing that he went back overseas for some health problems but hadn't heard anything recently. What did you have there that you weren't happy with and when was that?

We went a couple of times after the change of ownership, and the food was ok, but not nearly as good as it was. I guess I miss my favourite there which was "uncle alfredos fettuccine", it was magnificent. And, the atmosphere is not the same, the original personalities have gone, the decor has been changed also. Anyone going there who had no experience with the previous owner would not have a problem I guess..

I heard the original partner, Andreino, passed away in the U.S. The last I heard, Peter, the other partner, kept it going. But all that may be old news.

I can say I was a very frequent visitor of PK, nowadays much less. Well, Andreino was a guy who had his roots in Italy. Once he recognized you as a frequent visitor he showed more than average interest and most of the times offered you a Minnestrone soup or similar for free.
The new owner, I have to admit (still a nice guy), is only there during the days times around lunch break and beyond but almost never in the evening.
Since Andreino left I also noticed a number of changes of which most, well better judge for yourself.
The main reason why I still once in a while, though less frequently as when Andreino was there, visit that place, is just for a change.
5 times a week going to Why Not, Casablanca or Coco Amigos will finally be bearing; agree...!?
And of course I like Italian food plus PK is one of the resto in the Duma area when you can have a glass/bottle of wine.
Many, many, specially the PH resto don't have it on the drinking list; as maybe only a brand of which I dont mention the name. Starting with C and next R.
A riddle for the new competition perhaps. So Wyre take a note.

Cryptic message. No idea what this means though. Are you speaking of a certain brand of wine? Or maybe a restaurant's initials? My guesses to this riddle: Cidar Ridge, Captian Ribbers and......Crown Royal?

Not sure what it was like before but Pasta King is one of our favorite restaurants in Dumaguete; we go to Dumaguete 3-5 times a month on average and most times we will go to Pasta King. The staff is very courteous and prompt and the food is quite good. I'm not a wine drinker but my choice of drink starts with a Red and ends in Horse.

We will be spending the night in Dumaguete tomorrow and I would bet money the wife will choose Pasta King for dinner.
