BEIJING — The Philippines became America's second Pacific ally in as many days to hold ice-breaking talks with formerly frosty China. The meeting on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Beijing came a day after the first meeting between a Chinese and Japanese leader in two years. Like Japan, the Philippines is one of several countries embroiled in maritime territorial disputes with China.

President Benigno Aquino told NBC News the talks with Chinese Premier Xi Jinping were a "a new beginning." When asked if the meeting had been an ice-breaker, Aquino agreed and acknowledged the "warmth of hospitality" of his Chinese host. "Without compromising our principles on the maritime issues, we would like to develop areas of cooperation," he said, citing trade, investment and tourism as promising areas. "We would rather concentrate on activities that will improve the lives of our people." China's Xinhua news agency earlier reported that Xi urged Aquino to "constructively manage well the relevant issues," referring to the South China Sea disputes.

I think this was a good move on Aquino's part. The time is coming and may be here now that China will become a super power, they already are in the economic arena. Under current managment the US has become a country that does not support its allies.

I would argue the U.S. is indeed supporting their allies with the cost of their air war against ISIS; however, I don't think we should be involved at all in the middle east - we don't have a dog in that fight - so no argument. Why did we ever fight our way into Baghdad?

Seriously? After the billions (probably trillions) we have just thrown away to helping out the world each and every year? I say it's time we actually stop supporting the world. Let's pull our military (and money) support out of Europe, South Korea and the Pacific. They can deal with Russia/China/North Korea/Iran on their own. p*ss on them. New rule for military action from the US should be: "If you attack us or our interests, we nuke you. End of story."

Give a dog a bone.....Give the World peace!
Interferring in other people's Wars only enriches the Rich (Bankers, Industrialists and Politicians) and leaves the rest of us to pick up the bill.
If War is a requirement for employment in the Western world ,I for one can do without it, To many young people dying for what?

I agree with both of u guys, we shouldn't be there in the first place. If we do go to war congress needs to declare war, not some stupid resolution that is not allowed by the constitution. If we go to war under those conditions we should use whatever force necessary to win.
The so called lessons learned from Vietnam are wasted if we do not change the way things are done.
    Israel and Ukraine were allies.

That's what I thought about invading Iraq but the next US Prez will likely be one who voted for it. (Bankers, Industrialists and Politicians) own the Government, bought and paid for.

One corruption scandal after another, how many bankers have gone to jail?

The West is looking at the possiblity of a shooting war both with China and russia. What they don't know is the war has already started, not with bullets, but with the economy of all nations involved. China is not going to war with their biggest buyer of junk they produce. China is the world's manufacturer. Russia is quickly becoming the world's leading supplier of energy. They will soon overtake Saudi as the world's largest exporter of oil. They control or own 47% of the world;s uranium which powers the electric power generation in many countries. They just did a deal with china to build a pipeline to china for natural gas which will be several trillon dollars, but it will not be priced in dollars, it will be priced in rubles and yuan. Russia supplies europe with about 30% of its natural gas.
Russia and China, (in my opinion, coordinated), are leaning on the US militarily with flights in the Gulf of Mexico with Russian bombers and other "intrusions" is a feint on Russia's part. The reason for the feint is to get the US to spend itself into bankruptcy like the Soviet Union did when Reagan out foxed them with "Star Wars".

China has about $1.4 trillion dollars of US debt. Just last month, Ocotober, the US took in more revenue in taxes than any month in history yet for every dollar that came in the fed spent $1.57. Only a fool or a very good economist would call that a wise thing to do. The US currently has 18 trillion in debt that they will admit to. However when GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices), which is what the US requires of its citizens when keeping books for taxpaying purposes, are applied to the US government the total is over 100 trillion dollars.

The Obola administration has sacked most of the military leadership. The current US regime is playing checkers and the Chinese and russians are playing chess.

China and Russia together want the US to think there is the possiblity of a shooting war while both countries will avoid a shooting war when they can win the war that is already started with the economy and will end with the US dollar no longer needed as the world's trading currency but will be replaced with the Chinese Yuan.

In the last 50 years how many wars has China been involved in? Russia? US? Is the world bettter of because of the US intervention in other countries affairs?
