I'm going to start building my house pretty soon and was wondering where I can find quality plumbing fixtures, such as Delta, Kohler or American Standard. Last time I was there I went by Citi Hardware but wasn't too impressed with the selection. Looking for faucets, toilets and showers (with mixing valve).

    Thanks in advance,

    Shawn

The U.S. or online would be your best choice. Moen and Price Pfister are some other good options. Price Pfister is available here:

    price pfister Philippines

If I was to buy quality, such as those you stated, I would also but the rebuild kits for them at the same time. This way you should be set forever, unlike the crappy Chinese made fixtures commonly available here, that easily break, or leak, and do not have all the parts available to repair them.

Be aware too that the water here is often hard and alkaline and will scale up brass, or metal fixtures unless you use a good water softener. Another good investment is sediment filter for your water system. Fine sand and scale seems to do in the seals and seats of a lot of plumbing fixtures.

Thanks Knowdafish. I hadn't heard of Pfister and had to Google them; nice looking fixtures. I guess I may have to search around and see if I can find in Manila or Cebu. I could always spend an extra day in Dubai on one of my R&R's, they have some nice stuff I just hate paying Dubai prices.

I'm a bit concerned about water quality, I have some folks digging a well right now and at about 150' the water is still salty. Probably go 200' and if we can't find good water I'll just put a hand pump and call it a back up. City water just sucks where we are building, low pressure and constant water outages.

Definitely will be looking at water filtration either way as well as a storage tank and booster pump.

On my next R&R I plan to spend a couple days in Manila, does anyone know where would be a good place to check for the plumbing fixtures?

Also, can anyone recommend someone to install an electric well pump, controls and storage tank. I guess the guys that dug the well are only capable of digging.

    Thanks!

Shawn, I have a former American contractor living here who can do all that for you, he built an outdoor kitchen for me; however, he is expensive but excellent quality. SteveB, a friend and Forum member, has a local guy we have both used that is not as expensive and seems to be very knowledgable in motors and repairs. Good luck. You get what you pay for here.

Hello PatO...if it is cool I could PM you my email address to pass on to the 2 folks you mention.

I'm a Project Manager and came up as an electrician but only get there for 15 days every 120, so not a whole lot I can do with that time so it is a bit challenging trying to get going on this house build from here.

How about a good mason that can finish a mortar joint in CMU? I'm OK with cement plaster for the house, but I cringe when I think about how much cement I'll have to buy for the perimeter fence/wall.

    Thanks!

    Hello all,

I'll be back in a couple weeks and will spend a few days in Manila; any advice on where in Manila to check for the fixtures?

I have used Price Pfister in Us For many years. As Knowdafish said, they make excellent faucets. As far as I know they do not make fixtures such as toilets etc.
