One thing I have had problems finding as an expat anywhere in this country is real bread. most of the bread here are either pandesal or sweet white bread. Breadworth in Lee Plaza Mall has great bread that is not sweet. My favorite is a little pack of breakfast wheatrolls, 6 pieces, 3 different kinds for P25 - what a deal, the pack is a decent size for me and my girlfriend for breakfast. Add the Danish butter and Danish cheese found in the supermarket on the same level as the bakery, then you have breakfast from heaven :D
there is also a european baker in bacong who is perfect in making brezels french bread and more tel 09157430086
Hi Ginni, I saw this thread... Is this true about a european baker in Dumaguete? Does he take orders? That's the one thing I miss when visiting Asia (except HK). I'm even considering bringing a breadmaker for my next extended visit
I'll check it out next time we visit. That's one of the few things, I miss when visiting, good bread. BTW, Valencia is where we stay when visiting. Very relaxing up there. Thanks!!
Yes, Peter is a German and bakes great bread. You text him what you want and he delivers it the next morning to your house. On our tours for tourists I always pack a large French Bread for our picnic-lunch and the people love it!
Is this the Peter Fuchs van San Miguel, Bacong? He is married to a cousin of mine. The wife's family also sells his bread in Sibulan. I have not tasted it yet, but they do look great-tasting bread to me. Happy Eating!
I'm kinda amaze / impressed of this german enterprising ,making great german bread .It's something nice added variety for Dumaguete and around.Hope he makes profit so he continues with it.
