Anyone care to offer feedback on restaurants with reliably cool dining rooms, especially for the mid-day meal? I am not talking about the ones with a single unit, or two, where you have to sit in the one chair directly in front of the air con to get any cool air. I mean dining rooms Westerner expats can sit in shirtsleeves without sweat pouring out of every pore. You know, the ones where Filipinos dine in hooded, fur-lined parkas and mukluks? In the evening, al fresco dining is quite pleasant here, especially if there is a breeze (natural or electric-powered.) But when it's 32 degrees outside, and the dining room feels like they are getting ready for Bikram yoga classes, it's not very pleasant.
I can start: Pasta King has many fairly cool spots, but the room, in general, can be a bit warm. Even if it's not as cool as I would prefer, I will endure a bit of discomfort to chow down on their Spaghetti Bolognese....heavenly! Neva's Pizza on Hibbard has a comfortable dining room UPSTAIRS! Can anyone guess my favorite cuisine, now?
I was at tierra Alta last night for dinner and was surprised how nice the resto was and very good aircon! The service and food was also good and ok prices!
Casablanca has an air conditioned dining room that's quite comfortable. Most of the meals I've taken there have been good.
Just to say also I had the pulled pork sandwich which was the second time I had this. Half a baguette filled with very good sweet pork and a serving of chips and a dip for p165! Good value all around.
Roberto's has good food and air conditioning and their pizza is OK. It is nice to go for lunch there.
